absolute dental health and safety
At Absolute Dental we consider ourselves to be at the forefront of providing the very highest standards of cross infection control. In the process of relocating we made health and safety our highest priority and have incorporated a state of the art sterilisation room in the centre of the practice. With glazed front it is easily visible to our clients and we are proud to be giving prominence to customer protection. It is something that we have heavily invested in and it sets us apart from our competitors.
We use the latest techniques to give as much protection to both our patients and ourselves as is possible. We are continually updating our knowledge through external courses and demonstrations of the latest breakthroughs in technology.
In accordance with the latest dentistry guidelines we have recently purchased a state of the art washer/disinfector for our non-disposable dental instruments. This is an added feature to our already impeccable infection control process.
Many of the guidelines we are following are produced by The British Dental Association and during our recent audit to become a member of The Good Practice scheme we had our health and safety policies under close scrutiny, and were found to have the highest of standards.
A new piece of equipment called 'Sterilox' was recently purchased and is used on a daily basis. This produces a highly effective, non-toxic disinfectant solution that we now routinely use in our dental units. Without the use of such a piece of equipment, bacteria and viruses could infect the water in the dental lines and produce Biofilm which could contaminate the water coming from items such as the dental drills. We can now guarantee that all water we use during treatment is completely safe and sterile.
We use as many disposable items as possible in all treatments. This includes bibs, dental instrument trays, needles, impression trays, cups, a variety of single use instruments and of course gloves. All other items are autoclaved following a strict cross infection policy ensuring that our high standards are maintained.
We also make certain that all our equipment is regularly and properly maintained. All electrical items, including autoclave and x-ray machines, are screened and hold current safety certificates. The practice has an annual test of all fire extinguishers and carries out risk assessments as and when required.
If at any time during your visits to us you have any concerns or questions regarding any health and safety, or cross infection, issues, please do not hesitate to ask any of the team members.
