2008
We're hugely proud to have been one of the 3 finalists in the prestigeous Dental Practice 'WOW' Awards 2008 rural practice category, not least since the competition was incredibly strong and the criteria we were judged on to reach the finals very rigorous. No, we didn't win this time, but we were given much praise from all.
2007
We were very excited to have been shortlisted for last year's Private Dentistry Magazine awards in three categories - Most Attractice Practice, Best Dental team, and Best Employer - Rhodri John. Our notification from the magazine read as follows: 'With such a large number of entries we have been overwhelmed by the quality and standard this year and to be shorlisted is an outstanding achievement in itself. You and your team should be really proud of this accomplishment.'
We were finalists at 2007 Probe Dental Awards in two categories, one in the national Smile Month catagory, which acknowledged our commitment to children's preventive dentistry, and Denise Bingham was nominated for the Oral Health Educator award. Neither secured a win this time but we were in great company, amongst the best in the profession, and all involved were once again commended.
2006
We found ourselves once again at the Probe National Dental Awards as finalist in three categories, gaining the Team Award and beating off 15 other practices that had reached the final. We were thrilled to have gained national recognition for the team we have built up and are are so proud of. In addition Emma John won the Practice Manager category and Rhodri was runner up as Dentist of the Year, against 18 other finalists. A terrific result for Absolute Dental.
2005
Once again we were finalists at the Probe Awards and to our delight were highly commended as a team.
On Tuesday 4th October all staff went on a team building expedition Coasteering. This involved swimming, rock climbing and jumping from rocks ranging from 3ft to 20ft in height! It was a fantastic day, there were laughter, tears, fears and a lot of pain the next day with aches, bruises and scrapes, but we survived it together
2004
The practice was awarded the British Dental Association Good Practice Standard and were nominated for Best Dentist, Best Support Team, Best Dental Nurse and Best Practice Manager at The Probe National Dental Awards - coming runner up in all four categories.
Rhodri, our Clinical Director, became a finalist at The Private Dentistry Awards as Employer of the Year.
We had our Investors in People review at the end of the Year and not only sailed through it but our report said, 'Absolute Dental are exceeding all requirements and have a practice and a business that is setting a remarkably high standard.'
2003
Late in 2003 Emma, the Practice Manager became British Practice Manager of the Year and the practice were runner up at The Probe Dental Awards as Best Support Team.
2002
We became the first practice to receive the Investors in People standard in the South Hams, and later in the year received notice that we had been short listed for 'Practice of the Year'.
