welcome to absolute kids

We at Absolute Dental are keen to cater for the whole family and to provide the best support we can to the youngest members. Oral health education is of paramount importance and adopting the right habits at an early age can do much to prevent problems in the future. To that end we have Denise working not only one-to-one with our clients but also within local schools to spread her very important message to the very young. And that message is that 'Looking after your teeth can be fun, honestly!'

Denise had this to say about herself and her role at Absolute Dental ...
"I started my training as a Dental Nurse in 2000, a new millennium and a fresh start! I gained my qualification in 2002.I have been a Dental Nurse at Absolute Dental for the past 5 years and took my career one step further when I qualified as an Oral Health Educator.

Absolute Dental have a preventive approach to dentistry and my role within the practice is to work alongside the dentists and hygienists to assist in the education of oral health to both adults and children, on a one to one basis within the practice or, in group sessions at local schools. It is generally taken for granted that we know how to brush our teeth, using the correct size of brush and technique is vital to gain effective plaque removal. Fluoride also plays an important role in maintaining the strength of the enamel.
Encouraging good daily, oral health habits at a young age, helps to maintain a healthy mouth for life and helps to prevent the need for treatments.

Give your teeth and gums the treatment they deserve…"

"Cedric and I were invited to meet the children at Modbury Pre-School. We talked to the children about the importance of brushing our teeth twice a day and how a healthy diet can help to keep our teeth healthy and strong, encouraging the children to choose healthier snacks and drinks between meals. It was lovely to see so much enthusiasm and interaction at such a young age.

I must say that Cedric stole the show, letting all the children brush his teeth, they all did a very good job and left his teeth sparkling".

In May of this year, as part of National Smile Month, we gave away 100 new tooth brushes in exchange for old, over-used brushes. It was a fantastically successful campaign to raise awareness of the importance of renewing your tooth brush on a regular basis for successful preventive tooth care. Denise is pictured here with some of the children who benefited from our tooth brush amnesty.
